We dropped off the RV last October 15th for the following repairs, continued leaking of the black tank into the belly of the RV, battling the smell through the summer months became a weekly event. They also had to work on the black and gray tank valves, again and the jacks were still popping and we were still losing power in the kitchen island and storage area and of course the front cap LED's were falling off.
Nothing to make owning an RV fun right? I received a call finally from the dealer two weeks ago (after the entire winter went by) that the repairs have all been completed! My cost, a tad over $500.00, so we scheduled the delivery date for Friday April 8th, all was good to go.
Saturday March 19th I decided to go to the dealer for their annual RV show with my brother. While there I got the keys and went to check out the rig, LED's still not fixed, check, RV sitting low in the front probably due to jacks popping through the winter, check, so that wasn't fixed, natch, check the black and gray valves, neither of them work, AT ALL, locked in place, check, the living room AC has never worked, as in NEVER... something new, the chain for the huge bedroom slide, the slide I mentioned when new I would need to make sure lasted, was sitting on the top of the slide, obviously a lot of slack since we dropped it off last year.
I talked to the dealer, they will of course check it out...... wait almost 2 weeks, take Monday the 28th off to go back to the dealer to see when things would be scheduled only to find out nothing has been scheduled, nothing has been fixed. I let a few people there know I'm getting beyond angry and would like to see something happen, ASAP. The service tech says they will get right on it.
Fast forward to this morning I get a call, the landing jacks pump is bad, again, the black and gray tank valves are bad again, the chain took over an hour to adjust because.... well apparently adjusting a chain.... is hard.... on and on we go.
I stopped him and ask, how is it, that it got a clean bill of health two weeks ago, you took my money and now suddenly all of this shit has gone wrong? You're telling me that since it got that clean bill of health, the pump went bad, the valves went bad.... seriously. After we went back and forth, the total is over $3,500.00..... on top of the $500.00 we have paid.
I called Keystone and had a very extensive conversation with them, tomorrow I'm having a conversation with a lemon law attorney and Saturday I'm having a conversation with the dealership owners, this incompetence has to be addressed, the list of their incompetence is insane....
The wife and I have had it with this RV, it's nice to look at, but we're done, no matter the outcome we will be looking for something different, we know when we're licked, this is bullshit RV # 2, apparently we just aren't meant to have something nice. Depending on Saturdays outcome, we will never give Collier RV our business again and may get out of RV'ing completely, I don't know of another couple with this many problems with either a used or new rig, or the ability to have two dealers with tech's that NEVER DO A DAMN THING RIGHT.
I give up, seriously, tents are looking so good right now.

1 More Month
Until we can start getting the camping gear set, I need to visit the rig next weekend and verify my patch from last summer is holding up. If it isn’t, we probably have a surprise waiting for us. I cleaned the interior pretty well when I was there last, so there shouldn’t be any mold in the fridge. I’ll take pictures since this is the first year I didn’t go visit the RV over the winter and I went off of reports from the dealer, that has never worked out for me before so we’ll see.
With the wife and I working for the same company we decided to purchase a dash cam. We’re on the tollway a lot and we see a lot of strange things. Plus, a lot of accidents so to keep us safe from people who would lie to get out of blame this is the great equalizer. This way if we do get into an accident we will have evidence of either our guilt or innocence. If this works out I’ll be adding a second camera for the back window.
Here is a review about this particular Dash Cam, the DOD LS430W. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLFZuKSYiZs

New Computer Time
I named it ODIN, because it is all powerful. :)
Intel i7-5820k 3.30GHz CPU overclocked to 4.75GHz, 16gigs of new DDR4, EVGA Classified X99 motherboard, 2 EVGA Classified GTX 980’s in SLI, an EVGA 1300 watt SuperNova G2 Power Supply, a Corsair H100i water cooler for the CPU, a Corsair K95 RGB red cherry keys mechanical keyboard and an NZXT Phantom 820 chassis, the biggest chassis I have ever worked with.
It’s going to be used to run the office, video editing and for the first time in 8 years some video gaming, 4k gaming in ultra high mode is easily run on this machine. This thing is a beast and will out-run an Intel i7-5960x (at stock clocks).
Here is the home office, the computer has running lights like most modern cars and the color can be changed. The keyboard is capable of 16.8 million colors, why? Who knows, but it’s cool.
I have to find what I did with the SLI pictures so this only shows a single GTX 980, more to come when I get organized.

Hunting Hawk
While going for a walk today at the campground a hawk dropped out of the sky and scooped up a chipmunk. It happened maybe about 10ft away. I just happened to be looking in the right direction when the hawk landed and took off again. We could hear the chipmunks cries as the hawk took off.
Ronda was horrified while I was in awe of of it. I watched the hawk fly off with the chipmunk in its talons and while I know the chipmunk met its end I couldn’t help but admire the hawk. It was a perfect weekend, well, except for the Bears losing…

MSI Computer Corp… Never Again…..
I bought a very expensive video card 2 years ago, it came with a 3 year replacement or repair it warranty… it died, MSI has had it for over a month and then I get this response tonight. $56.00 doesn’t buy squat and they honestly believe that I believe that they don’t have a suitable replacement in a company that size…
Oy vey… guess which company I won’t be buying from in the future? Hmmmmm

Life & RV Update
On May 15th I was notified my employment would end at the company I was working for. Considering I was originally only supposed to be there for two weeks back in September of 2002 I am happy to have made it 12 years.
I had a job interview yesterday and received an official offer today so my 3.5 month run of unemployment is officially over!
We are at the campground for our yearly vacation which ends this Sunday, perfect timing.
I start the new job on Monday. There are 5 sites I’ll be managing and it will be challenging and rewarding.
I can’t wait!!
RV Update, the RV goes in on October 15th to have the final 2 warranty items repaired and to find out where the water is coming from that is laying on the belly of the RV. It’s a cover that seals the under-carriage and one side has water in it, there are no leaks so I think this was left over from when they had the tank open to repair the seal. We’ll see, until then we are enjoying what’s left of the season!
