Since 11/09/10, WOW! My page counter from Blogger argues with 4,261 views but I’ll agreed with the flag counter since it seems to be smarter.
I want to thank everybody who has started following our crazy path where the topic varies, I have ADHD, OCD and what ever else you want to call it so if your computer starts sHaKiNg it’s just my right leg bouncing up and down while I type, pay no attention to it.
My wife calls it, oh look there’s a chicken syndrome. Speaking of…
HiTcH iTcH… YoU KnOw wE GoT iT!!!!
It seems the closer we get to our first trip, the slower that damned count down widget counts down!! 38 days to go and maybe it’s because I go out to the rig every two weeks to check on things and it gets me anxious to get the first trip under our belt, I dunno but come on already! This is like working in a factory and watching the clock slowly go around and round and round and round and... oh yeah…
Nuts, I forgot to disconnect the chassis and engine batteries the last time I was at the rig.. see what ADHD does to you?!? My wife is cracking up at work right about now! I forget what else I was going to say… oh yeah, my blood sugar was 118 this morning!! WOOHOO!!! I feel like warmed over poopie but the doctor will be happy! The side effects of this new drug and my radical change in diet and food portions should get easier to handle over the next few weeks. I haven’t been at 118 I’ll bet in at least 7 years, I was 285 last week and have not seen a number higher than 178 since. This is a great step forward.

OMIGOD!!! The man speaks the truth!! ADHD is correct. We'll be talking about one thing then while in the middle of a sentence he changes the subject. I mean completely out of nowhere. We'll be talking about the dog for instance and all the sudden he's talking about the bathroom. When my brain finally clicks to that subject, he'll be talking about Obama. I cannot keep up with him. Don't even get me started on watching TV, listening to the radio, on the laptop and reading a magazine AT THE SAME TIME. I can barely walk and chew bubble gum at the same time without tripping and biting my tongue. I love this man dearly, but good grief! It amazes me that his eyes aren't spinning as he's talking. Oh...and the leg shaking thing!! Godforbid he can sit still for more than 7 seconds. It's never boring. He keeps my brain busy enough trying to keep up with him. Love you honey. ;-)
Right now, gas price burn is doing well to subdue my hitch itch ;).
Fantastic on your getting your blood sugar under control! Enjoy this exciting period building up to the launch. Anticipation can be quite wonderful all in itself.
Glad to here your numbers are getting better. It takes time to get new habits going, but you can do it.
Matt,
I filled up the tank prior to the end of Fall so with all the warm ups which have totaled a little over 100 miles I have about 3/4 of a tank so it shouldn't be too bad the first time out.
After that, ugh, it's gonna hurt!
Levonne,
It's not in control yet but if I can keep this up, like a few weeks under 120, then it'll be in control. :)
Teri,
My bad habit is chocolate, if I can beat that this will get much easier!
the gas may be a bit pricey but just think of the adventures and the places you are going to see!!
My poor pickup hasn't seen greater than a quarter tank of gas in many a moon.
You and Ronda should consider a comedy routine. What a hoot. If you are half as much fun out on the road as you are here, it would be a real treat sharing time with you.
Erik, you and I share a lot in common - insomnia, OCD, diabetes. I'd blame it on ancestry but you are Norwegian and I am Irish. Maybe we are just wired differently.
Can't wait to share the RV ride with the two of you. Big congrats on your much improved blood sugar also. Do you mind telling me what new med you are on now?
Rae,
The Viking's spent a decent amount of time in Ireland so the common link may actually be there! You never know! :) Ronda and I have a blast when we are on the road, not the first time we were on a long road trip up 7% grades mind you, I think Ronda was ready to sell the RV that night! But I adjusted and everything was fine after that.
We would love to meet you sometime! My doctor has me on Victoza which seems to be working but has some pretty intense side effects.
They typically don't give this drug to you unless you're A1C is out of control for long periods. You could ask your doctor but insure that there is no family cancer history and if you have any issues with your Pancreas this drug won't be for you.
Erik
Hi Erik, thanks for your comments on my blog re: engine replacement. I do trust the mechanic. The water pump went first, allowing fluids to go where they're not supposed to go. Coolant compromised the head gasket. It's a 28-year-old Dolphin, so I'm not surprised. Hate to spend the money, but also wasn't ready to move to San Francisco :-) Sue
What a great number Erik! I hope that you can get used to the meds. Sometimes they can really make one feel strange.
You need to throw yourself into a different project, maybe that will help with the countdown! I can't say too much as I am dying to get into my yard and work but since it's 40 degrees and pouring rain, I guess I'll just wait! Love Di ♥
Thanks Diana,
The bathroom is the project I'm going to tussle with. That should make the next month fly!
My number crept up today at 153 but considering I was in the high 200's 2 weeks ago, I'll take 153 over 285 any day!
Take care,
Erik
