Vacation Day 3 – Mice In The Roof?!?!?!? Happy July 4th!!!

What a strange morning, woke up to little feet on the roof, after an hour of listening to this I put on shoes and checked the roof out. Nothing up there, I go back inside and hear it again, sure enough they are in the roof, my guess is the AC ducts but they don’t sound like they are in the ducts, they sound like they are running free on the roof itself because they/it are hauling butt when they move. I have to figure out how to get this little mouse, or mice out of there!

Happy 4th of July everybody!!!!

Well at least you don't have a moose on the roof. That wouldn't be good at all!! Happy Independence Day to you and Ronda!! Love Di ♥

I don't know if this is helpful or not ... The week before we left Craig installed a new roof vent in the bedroom. It was not a Fantastic Fan, just a vent opening. When he took the old one out you could see the four inches of styrofoam-like insulation. It had holes/channels thru it that I could easily imagine mice going thru without difficulty. Perhaps you can open this area from inside either thru a similar vent or perhaps a light fixture to set some traps during the week while you are not there. I suggest tying the traps with string so if you do catch someone he cannot drag the trap deeper into the ceiling.

Also remove ALL food during the week and put several traps around the house.

Good hunting.

Not again? I hope you can catch the filthy critter before it makes more filthy critters.

Diana - No Moose on the roof!! :)~

Merikay - I thought the same thing, I haven't heard anything since yesterday morning but when we leave on Sunday I'm going to try your idea and use string to hold it in place.

We learned our lesson and any food in the rig is in sealed bins or taken home each time we leave. ;)

JoJo - The hazard with having a rig at the edge of a forest I guess. No noise since late yesterday morning so I'm hoping it was on the roof and not in it but I'll set a trap either way Sunday.
