Ho’oanani Makuakane “Honor Thy Father”

On December 13th the TV Show Hawaii Five-0 had an episode called Ho’oanani Makuakane “Honor Thy Father” in which they investigate a murder that occurred in a Japanese Internment camp in Oahu Hawaii. The class in which this TV show went about honoring not just the Vets but also the Japanese that served was incredible.

They also captured what our Government did to the hundreds of thousands of Japanese simply because they were Japanese… it was incredibly re-enacted. I don’t have enough words to explain how well this show was done.

If you get a chance to see this episode, check it out, have tissue ready, you’ll need it.

Pictures are from TV Equals they also have a great write up.

I have read some of the stories and they were so sad. These people really suffered and I hope that this country would never do this again.

We watched that episode. It was very balanced and a great story.

JO - Unfortunately the military is asking personnel to sign documents for re-enlisting that include "will you shoot upon American civilian's if called upon" and if you refuse to check that you can't re-enlist. I wish this was false and I know lots of places that claim it is but I know it to be true, I just can't say why.
