I meant to post this on Monday. On Sunday 3/24/13 we stopped by the rig and I opened the door and looked around and it was clear I had many more mice to kill, 13 dead so far in my war against rodents and it is clear I am losing! What is it about our rig that draws them in?
I saw mouse poop in front of the drivers seat, A LOT of poop! The upper cabinets, full of poop, the kitchen drawers, bathroom cabinet, poop everywhere! The little varmints must have invited friends and had a party although I have no clue what they were partying on except maybe important wiring or insulation or other such important things I will find out about the next time I go to drive it.
My last few trips to get mouse traps, failed, nobody has them and me and my computer gurunessness forgetted that they probably sell them on that there thang called the internet! Ugh, go figure I never looked or even thought about it, until…. I was in the RV looking at mouse crap everywhere.
I put one lonely trap down, maybe when it catches a mouse the others will take the hint and move on to somebody else's RV? OR, maybe they’ll turn into cannibals and have a mouse cannibal party?!?!? 
That’s it, tomorrow I go on a mouse trap expedition and then I’ll drive up and plant them everywhere! I’ll show ‘em! But, but but, we’ll be gone for 9 days and there will be warmer days so all those mice will begin to….. well, you know and the smell will be awful!
Spring cleaning this year is really going to be interesting… we will not be parking next to the woods again… that is until we move the rig into the campground… right… next… to… the… woods…

Erik, search the internet for the Hantavirus. Compare the mice you caught to a picture of the deer mouse. It has the colors similar to a deer. They are big carriers of the virus and be cautious of cleaning up droppings or nests. The virus covers most of the country and while there was only one or two cases in Illinois I would still educate yourself about it. Bruce
Man that's nasty. I would call and exterminator maybe they can locate entry ports. Filthy little vermin.
Your in the market for a new storage place, and probably the sooner the better... Something with big blacktop parking.... I know it is a lot more but what are you going to do........
Bruce - Agreed, I am buying a cleaner for the carpet and for cleaning the cabinets. I will be wearing gloves as well, thanks for the heads up!
JO - They make their own, you plug everything up, they find another way in, little bastards.
Rod - Agreed, at the end of this season we will be going back to the last place we stored at. It will cost more but the odds of mice making it in is much less.
We will be in the campground surrounded by forest and of course mice so this summer will be fun.
Good bait for the trap: peanut butter or cheese. They can't resist!

I would never have thought of cannibal mice or rats until one time last summer. We have an outdoor closet that is on the lower deck and just above the ground. Its mail purpose is to access the clean out for the fireplace chimney. I keep mouse and rat traps in there and usually catch a couple per month. Last summer I went to check the traps and noticed the mouse that I had caught had a bloody stump for a leg. The next night I caught another, but this one was literally "gutted" with its's insides licked clean. The third night I caught a rat. After that there were no more for a long time, and none of the future dead mice were damaged. Except for being dead in the trap.
Don't vaccume up mouse poop. Spray it with bleach before wiping up the area. (I never do either, but this is what I've been told to do.)
Erik- Hope you figure out where they are getting in. Sounds like they are making a mess, not to mention the possible damage they are causing. Good luck!
When we owned a travel trailer in IL, it was parked year round in a campground near the IL River and we had the same problem, a big cleanup every spring. I think this is one of the reasons we finally sold it. Don't forget to wear a mask, too. They always ate the insulation in the oven of the RV.
