3 Years – Miss You Mom

3 years ago today my Mom died of pancreatic cancer. After 3 years I still remind myself to call her and then I remember I can’t. Time doesn’t seem to matter in this regard, I don’t think you get used to the person not being there completely.

We are going to all get together again on December 7th for her birthday and celebrate her life and toast her strength and maybe get a little tipsy in the process. In these pictures we were at the zoo in 2009 just a few months before she died and I did wheelies' with her in the chair and she pretended to get upset but she had this sly smile while I was doing it. I got away with stuff like that, I was the instigator of the family, she knew I would do something weird! This was our last family outing with her, we are all so happy to have been able to share some fun and laughter during her battle with cancer. She lost the battle but ultimately she taught us how to be strong and deal with the harsh realities that can happen in life.

Love you Mom!

Its hard for us to realize that all four of our parents are gone, so we understand completely. You think, oh I need to tell mom..... and then you realize you can't... Sad..

I used to call my Mom every Saturday night, since it was long distance I even had an arrangement with the Police Department I worked for that allowed a call from my office once a week to Pa,Twenty years later I still catch myself walking to the phone in the kitchen and starting to dial her old number. A Son's love never ends.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna...

We totally understand. We lost all of our parents and we still find ourselves picking up the phone to call and then reality sets in and it has been about 10 years for us.

Our thoughts are with you!

I understand, lost my mom 20 yrs ago and I was Daddies girl all the way. He passed 3yrs ago while I held his hand. Always wanting to share a story or some such thing with him still too.

Enjoy her always in your heart.

Sweet photos of you and your Mom.
My heart is touched as I know how much you must miss her.
I call Mama every day...sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. She is 81 and my Daddy is 86. I can't imagine life without them.
Sending you smiles...thinking of you as Dec. 7 approaches.

Erik, this is especially hard this year (with Penny having cancer and being operated on the same day). There isn't a day I don't think about her.
